Advisory council members include, when available, community business and civic leaders, senior citizens, Foster grandparents, family of past or current Foster grandparents, program staff, and a member of the Action Resources International’s Board of Directors.
Bernard A. Steinman is a gerontologist and faculty member at the University of Wyoming. He teaches courses in aging, community leadership, and program evaluation. He also serves as director of Age-Friendly Laramie, an organization that strives to improve livability and promote age-friendly social and physical environments within the community. Bernard finds his work on the FGWR advisory council to be especially fulfilling, since he has always enjoyed interacting with older adults.
Jacquelyn Walker is a forever student and retired faculty member from the University of Wyoming. She has an Ed.D in Instructional Technology and Adult Education and taught in the Colleges of Education and Business. Prior to this, she worked 15 years for Ark Regional Services in staff development and training. She recently moved to Buffalo, Wyoming after living, working, and raising a family in Laramie, Wyoming.
